Former Philadelphia Flyer Chris Therien Joins PA Mental Health Center
Pennsylvania Mental Health
Pennsylvania Behavioral Health Center is excited to announce the newest addition to our team, Chris Therien. As a former NHL defenseman, Chris is no stranger to high-pressure situations, but he’s also no stranger to the mental health struggles that many people face today.
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, one in five adults in the United States experienced some form of mental illness in 2020. That’s a shocking 51.5 million people. Depression, anxiety, and substance abuse are among the most common diagnoses. Unfortunately, many people don’t seek treatment due to stigma, lack of access, or other barriers.
Former Pro is Pro at Recovery
This is where Pennsylvania Behavioral Health Center comes in. Our outpatient center in Phoenixville, PA provides accessible, evidence-based care for individuals struggling with mental health and addiction. Our team of compassionate and experienced clinicians offers a range of services, from individual therapy, psychiatry to group counseling to medication management.
We’re thrilled to have Chris Therien join us as a Chief Wellness Officer. He brings a unique perspective to our team and will be a valuable resource for our clients.
Chris is also the founder of The Therien Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports individuals and families affected by addiction. The foundation provides financial assistance for treatment, education and advocacy, and resources for recovery.
Additionally, Chris recently launched a new website, www.bundyrecovery.com, which provides addiction resources for individuals and families. The website includes information on treatment options, support groups, and educational resources.
In addition to his work with Pennsylvania Behavioral Health Center and The Therien Foundation, Chris is also involved with Pennsylvania Recovery Center in Philadelphia. This addiction treatment center offers outpatient levels of care for individuals struggling with addiction, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services
We’re honored to have Chris Therien join our team at Pennsylvania Behavioral Health Center and look forward to the unique contributions he will bring to our clients and the community. Together, we can help break down the barriers to mental health and addiction treatment and support individuals on their journey to recovery.
