Our Team
A coordinated clinical and administrative team, each carefully selected for their skill, compassion, and commitment to quality care.
Our team has spent years working in behavioral health, and every person here shares the same commitment: providing care that's both clinically excellent and genuinely compassionate. Each team member was thoughtfully selected, not just for their credentials, but for how they show up for the people we serve. Whether you're working with our clinical team, our administrative staff, or our leadership, you're working with people who care about getting this right for you or your loved one.
How Our Care Team Works Together
Mental health treatment works best when the people providing it actually talk to each other. At Pennsylvania Behavioral Health Center, every client is supported by a coordinated team rather than a single provider working in isolation. Your psychiatrist, primary therapist, group facilitators, and behavioral health technicians meet regularly to review progress, adjust treatment plans, and make sure that what happens in a medication appointment lines up with what is happening in therapy.
That coordination starts at admission. Before your first day, our admissions director gathers your history, verifies your benefits, and briefs the clinical team so you are not repeating your story to five different people. A psychiatric evaluation with our medical director establishes the diagnostic picture and any medication needs. Your primary therapist then builds an individualized treatment plan around that evaluation and revisits it with you throughout your time in the program.
Clinical Leadership and Oversight
Our medical director, Dr. Jeffrey Simon, MD, oversees psychiatric care across all levels of our programming, including evaluations, diagnostic clarification, and medication management. Our clinical supervisors provide day-to-day oversight of the therapy team, review treatment plans, and ensure that the evidence-based modalities we use, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and EMDR, are delivered with fidelity.
This structure is part of why we hold Joint Commission accreditation and Pennsylvania Department of Human Services licensure. Both require documented clinical supervision, measurable outcomes, and ongoing quality review, and both are re-verified rather than granted once and forgotten.
Therapists, Technicians, and Family Support
Primary therapists carry a deliberately limited caseload so that individual sessions are substantive rather than rushed. Several members of our therapy team bring specialized training in expressive and art therapy, trauma-focused treatment, and grief and life transitions, which lets us match clients to a clinician whose background fits what they are working through.
Behavioral health technicians, including certified recovery specialists with lived experience, provide the day-to-day presence that keeps a program feeling human: greeting people in the morning, checking in between groups, and noticing when someone is having a harder day than usual. Our family program director works separately with parents, partners, and adult children, because recovery rarely happens in a vacuum and families often need their own education and support.
If you would like to know more about who would be involved in your care before you commit to anything, call our admissions team. We are happy to walk you through the program structure, explain who you would be working with, and answer questions without any pressure to enroll.
